Blue Grotto Florida - dive a spring cavern.

Blue Grotto Dive

The Blue Grotto Dive in Florida is guided by our divemaster and for all experience levels of divers because of its great visibility. Descend down the first 70 feet of open water to view a variety of fish, fossils in the limestone walls, and even a friendly turtle. Along the way at 30 ft check out the air bell that made this grotto dive famous. The bell is located on the ceiling of this cavern dive and is supplied with compressed air from the surface. Talk to your dive buddy underwater, this florida spring allows you to do just that. Don't talk to long because time in the air bell still counts toward your bottom time but the compressed air is free. At 35 ft are powerful underwater lights attached to the limestone, to light up the upper portion of this site so divers have a perfect view. After admiring the Blue Grotto diving continue to descend with your diving buddy to 70 feet where peace rock and the cavern start. This limestone rock was marked many years ago with the 1960's symbol of peace and is a great photo opportunity. Descending past peace rock is the start of a permanent yellow guide line that brings you around a crescent shaped rock at a max depth of 100 ft. As you ascend up look around and watch your bubbles run up the side of the limestone wall. This looks like an upside down waterfall.
All you need is your open water certification card and American Pro Diving Centers fun, knowledgeable, professional divemasters and instructors guide your dive to all the cool things to see. Even the simplest things like reminding at 15 feet for the safety stop. While hanging out at the platform check out this beautiful cavern and the many fish that surround you. Need a diving buddy we can buddy you with another diver.
This dive can be combined with Devils Den in one afternoon and or after the morning manatee tour!
